I was bulimic and anorexic for eight years of my life, and most of my thoughts were based on depression. I mean, I just focused on the negative; I hated my life, I hated my relationship with my parents, I hated my relationship with my dad, I used to fight with my mother all the time, literally fight with my mother all the time, and every single day I would just wake up hating my life.
And what ended up happening is obviously that revealed itself to me in my body and I didn’t want to eat, and I of course was throwing up my food and lost dramatic amounts of weight and it was just a really horrible, horrible experience as you can imagine, and my relationship to my body was, I don’t want to say it forever changed, but for a large period of my life was very, very delicate relationship that I had.
So for me it’s really important to share that these practices of where we place our attention is actually to prevent us for going down the path of disease, and a diseased body which can manifest in many different forms to literal depression, to of course the sickness and the illnesses that our body represent in the form of cancer and all of these other diseases.
For me it’s incredibly important to, while we are well, to continue to do the daily practices of placing our attention on the aspects of our life that are life affirming to us and that feel good to notice.
I'm blessed to be back in Tulum, Mexico. Seaweed is plentiful, ocean is as beautiful as I remember it, and I just wanted to send this amazing, beautiful, peaceful vibe your way, and remind you the power of your attention, the power of your thoughts; not to be underestimated. Attend to your thoughts and your beliefs for they in turn become your reality.
Row, row, row your boat gently down the stream, merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily your life can be your dream.
Don't give up, stay committed, believe in your dreams, believe in yourself, know that it is your birth right to thrive; it is your birthright to share your unique gifts and talents in exchange for what we call money, which is just an appreciation currency.
I just want to remind every single person that your attention is your greatest commodity and so, if you are experiencing something other than ease and grace in your life doesn't feel like this, and some version of this, something's misaligned. All that's required to shift your external reality is to begin to pivot your attention more in the direction of what you prefer.
So if you had, or got in the habit of focusing on what isn't working lack and scarcity, the greatest gift you can give yourself is to begin a morning practice of appreciating what is working in your life, begin to shift your attention to possibility thinking.
You really have two core choices and please know your perception is creating your reality; this is why we have 7.5 billion different realities happening simultaneously on this planet. So you have two choices you can choose to perceive your life through the lens of lack, scarcity and what isn't working, which will absolutely create pain, drama and challenges for you. Remember we live in a magnetic paradise where the majority of your inner dialogue is being validated with external circumstances. So in order to change your experience you’ve got to change your story. Everything in life’s a story, the most important one is the one telling yourself.
So please know you do not need to micromanage 60 to 80,000 of your thoughts in order for your reality to shift. All that is required is to shift from 49 to 51 percent of what you prefer. There is something in physics called momentum that will handle the rest. So if you find that you have had a pattern and the tendency to focus on what isn't working, do yourself an incredible favor and shift your perception and your attention to what you prefer. So once you start focusing on gratitude and appreciation, which is the highest vibration you can offer, and what is working in your life, you will begin to promote infinite possibilities and more to appreciate. I know this for sure; I went from being depressed, penniless and pointless, to living the life of my dreams. So if I can do it, you can do it.
Remember we are the ones we’ve been waiting for. Be your own best leader, ok? And also, be the change you wish to see in the world, which is not do the change you wish to see in the world at your own expense.

Optimism to me is, once again, that deliberate choice to utilize my greatest commodity, my attention, and my mind, and my perception to choose to notice what is good.
To choose to be angel’s advocate for my life, to choose to envision best case scenario instead of worst case scenario, and to just really focus my attention knowing that what I attend to is going to expand in my experience.
To know that thru free will I have the opportunity to decide, to notice what’s working and to notice what feels good.

In addition to getting clear about what's most meaningful to you this next year, be sure to place your attention more often than not on what is working in your life and what you are grateful for, so that you can come into alignment with your deepest desires.

Hi, I’m Laura Fredrickson with the Institute of True Wealth, and I want to talk today about addiction to processing.
There are so many people that are in the state of “I have to honor how I feel, I have to really process what just happened to me”, and what they don't understand, what they forget is that what we focus on expands, and you are attracting based on how you feel.
So this is not to dissall therapists or traditional therapy in general; there is a time and a place for that, so powerful, when I lost both of my parents I saw a therapist for 3 months. I did very deliberate work around the emotional trauma, and the emotional pain. But I often work with people who have been in therapy for anywhere between 10 and 20 years; nothing ever changes!
The reason for that is because what you focus on expands regardless of whether or not you're getting clever and you think “no, I just need to process and honor this”, you have to know that your attention is your greatest commodity. And when you continue to regurgitate those stories over and over and over, it's inviting the same energy in different packages into your life.
So awareness is key; awareness is the greatest facilitator for change, and without it you really have no choice and so I really invite you: look at your results, results don't lie. If you find that you're having the same type of experiences over and over in your life, maybe that's the same type of relationship dynamic that you repeat over and over and over. It's an opportunity to really harness your past and your experiences and use it in a way that gets you clear about what you prefer.
There's a very simple practice you can do, I call it “The contrasts exercise” you can create two columns: a “no column” and a “yes column”. And review your past in a very deliberate way, and write down the things that have not worked for you in your relationship, or in your job or perhaps with your health. And take your attention from that no column and shift it to what it is you prefer.
In order to create something new you have to focus on what it is you are wanting. It has to be thought of and spoken of in a life affirming way. The universe does not speak English French and Japanese, it speaks in the language of energy. So use your pass very deliberately and direct your attention from what you experience to what you prefer, place your attention on that at least four days a week; all that's required is the majority because momentum will handle the rest, and what you'll start to notice is new evidence in your life of those new energetic frequencies and experiences coming in as a result of you placing your attention on your yes, and what you prefer.
So remember processing does not fundamentally work, okay? It takes 17 seconds activate a vibration. So the universe is responding to where you place your attention now, now, and now. It doesn’t know the difference between your past, present and future.
So tell stories that feel good to you; everything in life’s a story. The most important one is the one you’re telling yourself.
