When I was out for an afternoon walk, I met a 21 year old African parrot named Nigil. I was amazed to see Nigil sitting on his owners arm and not flying away. I was told that Nigil COULD actually fly if he wanted to, but didn’t know that he could.

Apparently he’d had a traumatic experience when he was a little guy, and had his wings clipped. He didn’t realize they’d been clipped, and fell to the floor when he tried to fly. He was so upset from this experience, that he didn’t speak for a year.

I couldn’t help but wonder, how many people don’t realize they can “fly”, because of a past experience that was traumatic?

Loving reminder to not clip your “wings” with limiting fear based beliefs, and know that the winds of well being are always blowing in your direction.
